I love gory movies, like I suppose many of us do here, so I've got a few recommendations and would like to hear some of yours. First is the most obvious one Braindead/Dead Alive, a classic, then Cannibal Holocaust, the Guinea Pig series, Grotesque, Premutos, Doomsday. And of course the more obvious ones like the Saw and Hostel franchises.

Late to respond but I'll chime in.

Something called August Underground, which I'm sure you've heard of. Not so much gory as frighteningly raw and realistic. It's one of those found footage exploits, where two 20-something maniacs document a violent killing spree via 8MM camera. Feels like you are on a "gore site".

On that note, there's also that Days Of Sodom which I have yet to watch, but intend to for the hell of it.

Fun fact, the August underground series budget was only 300 USD, yet pulled off gore and the creep scenes very fucking well. A Serbian film is "based on a true story" about underground snuff scene brutal fuck scene then beheading and infamous "new born porn" sound byte. Two to really check out. Salo I haven't seen but heard great things about it, boring start I heard but overall brutal.

A lot of good ones have already been mentioned. Martyrs is amazing.

High Tension was just alright but there was some good gore. Antichrist is in the same boat.

Not a horror movie, but the pelvis chopping scene from Bone Tomahawk was brutal as fuck.

Not the goriest of all time, but Maniac is quite good. I haven’t seen the remake, it has Elijah Wood as Frank, supposedly he did a good portrayal.

If you want old school you can’t go wrong with Lucio Fulci. The Beyond is one of my favorite horror movies ever.

It isn’t very gory and isn’t that great after the first or second viewing, but the first time I watched The Poughkeepsie Tapes I was stupid high and my mind filled in all the gaps of what they didn’t show on-screen. I was honestly slightly spooked after. Something like that happening is absolutely 100% possible.
